[[Personals]]

Personality:

|| Amoral, Blunt, Vindictive, Capable, Decisive, Eloquent, Fun loving, Hedonistic, Freethinking||

Jack is someone who is very stern on his thoughts; he is less likely to listen to agree with others and forms ideas of his own. Because of this he is a very independent being who likes to formulate ideas and plans of his own. Due to events in the past, his view on the world is very hedonistic, and he believes formal rules are only there to get in the way of those who are complacent, he’ll do whatever he feels is right for him.

He’s reached a vital turning point in his life already, and it has left him questioning the purpose of human practices like morality. He has also already been pushed to a point where he has become very aggressive and vindictive when threatened or forced, as he is determined not to repeat such events again. He’ll only run into challenges that he is certain he is capable enough to achieve, working only with others that will benefit him or match his style. When working with Jack it's important to note, it's Ekaterina, him and then everyone else in order of importance.

He doesn’t find difficulty stringing words together, and he will use his words to try and carefully convince others to play his way. He enjoys himself as much as he can, and is happy to bring others along on whatever fun things that he is currently doing. He doesn’t have much difficulty interacting with others, and wears a relatively calm mask when he feels Neutral or friendly towards someone. He likes cute things and people, and finds the shy personality type to be very cute. However, he isn’t fond of people who are forceful towards him as it brings back bad memories. He has a dark sense of humour, and enjoys stupid funny things as well.

History:

Jack was born to Ian and Lisa Maddock, both researchers who were contracted to a private company, Bellosoming Beauty that focuses on making natural cosmetics for both humans and Pokémon. Ian primarily does field work and research on plants and plant type Pokémon, while Lisa analyses natural beneficial compounds for use in the company’s products and engineers products. As such they work on separate small teams apart from each other. The company is relatively small, but the products manufactured are of a generally high quality.

Ryan, his eldest brother (four years older) is a graphic designer, and is regularly contracted to do the packaging for the very same company, though this is because of his contacts with the company. He works in a small design firm otherwise. Dana Maddock (two years older) works in child care, and has been in the same establishment since acquiring her Diploma in Early childcare. At the time that Fred was alive, he was still in primary school.

Looking back on Jack’s youth, one would find a very self-assured boy who didn’t fear interacting with his fellow students. He was raised by the whole family, as his parents were very busy workers and sometimes had very little time to afford on him. He received his Shiny Magnemite, Ferro (unevolved at the time) at the age of three. It was a third of his size at the time at 30cms and larger than his head at the time. It was intended to become a life time Pokémon partner for him so that he would not become lonely. They developed a strong bond and are inseparable even in adult hood; as such they are heavily devoted to each other. Since the age that he was old enough to think deeply about technology and Magnemite, he had become interested in mechanics and its applications.

When he was twelve, Fred was born and he suddenly wasn’t the youngest. He didn’t take it as badly as some children might have, as he was old enough to understand his position in the family. With such a large age gap Jack was the one that ended up spending the most time with him, along with Magneton. He was the proper big brother figure, and that was something that brought a mixture of pride and joy to his life. He was fairly popular in high school, and excelled in mathematics and science, in which he maintained a great interest. He achieved poorly in arts, music and drama as he did not display large amounts of creativity. The exception was technical drawing as he was able to incorporate mathematics into his art. He was not exceptional in sports, but good, and as such he was relatively fit.

Upon graduating, Jack found himself in a Mechanical Engineering degree (four years full time). This course was paid for by his parents in full every commencing semester, the same as with his sibling’s courses. His interest fell into the development of rifles and tasers for military use, though later the pathway would lead him somewhere other than where he intended. It would be in his first year and at the age of 19 that he would meet an older woman named Beverly, four years his senior. She was a library worker for the university, relatively quiet but comfortable in social situations. At the time he thought she was attractive, so he pursued her once he found out that she was single, but he didn’t really know very much about her. They started dating over the year, eventually introducing her to the family after approximately six months. After that point they were close enough that she would begin doing favours for Jack, driving Fred back and forth between school and home for example. After that period he noticed that she was becoming progressively, clingy and strange. She was allowing him to associate with female friends and class mates less and less until it reached the point where he was forced to change every contact’s name to the name of a male. He even had to do it for the number of one of his instructors, who he solely relied on for educational and emotional advice.

Because of Jack’s social nature the changes made him increasingly resistant to her ideas and requests. He slowly found that he simply couldn’t enjoy his life the way he used to, and when he voiced his displeasure she desperately asserted that she would change her ways, but became progressively worse but less obvious about it. She discreetly texted his friends asking them to not contact him again while pretending to be him. She was also becoming progressively less trusting, thinking that he was lying about who he was hanging out with or where he was going and that was very true. He was becoming progressively stressed to the point that it was affecting his grades and he was beginning to feel the onset of depression.

It was at the time that he was feeling the most stressed, a bit before turning 20 that she finally started pushing him to further the relationship.  He initially resisted with sadness, frustration and even anger but she didn’t seem to listen when he said that he wanted the relationship to end. There was a time where he feared that she was unstable enough to take her own life over him, so he had difficulty parting because he didn’t want that sort of blood on his hands nor did he want others to blame him for that. He started lashing out at others because he had no idea how to control his emotions, it was often for small things like bad customer service in stores, and even then it did nothing but make him feel worse about himself.

Upon breaking point he firmly told her that he just couldn’t be with her anymore, and that the relationship was over. He did it over a text, and thought it was the end of the relationship. He was on his end of year break from university, and chose to use that spare time to fix his life up while he could. She repeatedly rang him over and over through the next couple of weeks until he became sick of it and picked up. She seemed so angry when he picked up, and the pair started arguing until she finally brought up a piece of information that shocked him into silence.  She told him over the phone that she was pregnant with his child, and pressured him back into picking up the relationship, which he did even though he could barely formulate coherent sentences from the shock. Soon after he told her that he needed to think and hung up.

He went for a walk in the dark that night, silently mulling on his situation and how trapped he felt at the moment. He sat on a swing, feeling at his very lowest, feeling a vile bitterness rising so far inside him that he could swear he could taste it. He wondered, that just maybe she was lying to him, she was being manipulative and controlling like she always had been. But his mind was also running at its worst and he was not thinking logically. Therefore, when Espurr appeared in front of him and offered him a wish, he spouted the first thing that came to mind.

“Beverly,” he didn’t move from his spot on the swing to meet its eyes, his voice wavered and his throat started to tighten as he started to blink back tears “I’m just so sick of her; I wish that she would just fuck off and die or something.” He didn’t think that anything would actually happen, at the time he attributed Espurr to a psychological break down so he spouted everything that he wanted to say as he broke down in tears. Before he could finish and look up, Espurr was gone. He didn’t see the results straight away, and wrote off the whole strange experience as a lapse of sanity.

It was the next day that he was making his way home; it was a heavily rainy day, unusually sudden. He found Beverly standing out the front gate of his family home talking to his younger brother, evidently looking for him. Just as he called out to catch her attention, something he found to be unexpected happened. With the state of the weather as it was, and the bend of the street being the way it was, the factor of a truck speeding a little too fast for that type of weather and the exact positioning of the two people. It wasn't difficult to work out that the result would be a particularly nasty car accident.

When the dirt and smoke cleared, he couldn’t see much beyond the wreckage. His knees buckled and he couldn’t even find the strength in him to walk, he sat wordlessly as his eldest brother burst out the front door with his father. He was so deep in shock that his mouth was wide open, and all he could do was quiver. There was an appendage on the floor, but whose? He couldn’t even work that out. That moist feeling, when he finally moved and wiped a hand across his usually white shirt, it wasn't water. He looked up at his elder brother, who was dialling the authorities and then to his father trying to pull the metal debris to uncover his youngest child.

“Oh Lord,” Jack finally croaked, “Oh Lord, there’s nothing left.” His brother grabbed him by the shoulder; Jack didn’t even register what he said, he just moved limply with the impact. He felt lame, he felt low, and he felt numb. He wanted to say more, but his mouth could only open and close uselessly.

“I think he’s in shock,” Ryan continued on the phone, “He’s bleeding.”

---

Jack was wheeled off by the paramedics on scene, the only survivor was the driver himself, but he was in such a terrible state that he was unable to stand in court for a long time. Jack had the charges dropped eventually by his family, saying that it was a freak accident, as much as he knew it was that he was to blame. Her family was much less lenient however, but he didn’t care to follow what they were doing legally.

He deferred his second year of education, calling his instructors in tears and explaining his situation as best as he could. Then, to the surprise of very few, he withdrew for a while from the outside world with little but his Magneton and sparing contact with his immediate family, trying to stay as composed as he possibly could. During that time he was becoming acquainted with the new him, Circuit breaker, his magical self, whom he used to disassociate himself from his life, and who he loathed as much as himself. Such unfortunate events created a vile thing, he thought, but his real self was worse.

Almost a year after the event was a fire that burned not far from his home, he 21 at the time, and headed over before anyone else really made it on scene. Everything was in cinders, the building looked structurally unsound and all he could find was a little girl, around his brother’s age alone with her Pokémon. It was then that something biological and emotionally deep clicked inside of his head, blinking past images from a year before he instinctually moved towards the child. Part of him knew what he was doing; he was already substituting her for Fred. She was also alone; he wanted to keep her because she was quickly becoming a dead ringer for someone long dead and gone.

He knew he should have stopped himself from taking her in, but the moment that he discovered that the same creature has contracted her the more he knew that they needed to stick together. He was jumping through bureaucratic hoops for her before he knew it, adoption papers, waiting periods, consent forms. And if he were able to reason through, he probably would have thought he was not suitable for such a role. The problem was that he was acting on emotion and not logic.

It was difficult for him to continue his degree with a child, after deferring a year he was forced to extend the time it would take for him to complete his degree. Instead of graduating at the age of 22 like he anticipated, he completed it at the age of 26; essentially taking double the time he would have while juggling a part time job to support himself and the child. He wanted to make sure she could continue in the same school, and his older siblings pitched in when he couldn’t exactly make time or ends meet. That made things a bit difficult; because it seemed like his brother Ryan always had an expression of pity on his face.

Upon graduating he found himself under the employ of a private company that created products on behalf of the government. And that is the position that he is most currently in.

[[Relationships]]

Ekaterina Lancaster ||Audino|| Evil Magica|| roxxie-kun
His child, dearer than life.

Older brother/younger sister style relationship. Jack became her legal guardian after she lost her family, since he lived nearby, felt sorry for her and decided to take her on. He was also the first neighbour on scene after the accident, and the first to tend to her. They are not biologically related, and Jack had to wait until she was legally able to be adopted, so he did a lot of paper work and had to wait behind governmental procedures until he was able. She was nine when he was able to take her home, in a way she is a replacement for his deceased younger brother of the same age.

They live in a relatively small apartment, but Ekaterina is able to go to the same school that she used to before. She has her own, albeit small; bed room that jack just doesn’t go into. He’s the one that influences her into going down the evil path, and they are often seen in a pair. Usually, they’re careful about their human identity, as Jack prefers it that way.

His mind felt heavy, like it was full of broken gears shaking without function in a container. It was a fast and ill realisation, this was his doing and he was a sick, sick person for wanting it in the first place.

Everything done by tablet except the metal backing on his gem, that part is photo manipulation of a piece of jewellery picture I had lying around for eons and mauled because my driver broke. The gems were hand painted without pen pressure (dies) with a gem texture layered on top. Gem texture from: fav.me/du0alr
